Stanley to Burnie Trail

  • Work up a TrailGraze-worthy appetite with a morning trek to the summit of Stanley’s iconic Nut, and explore the town’s collective of galleries and giftware.
  • Take a scenic 40-minute drive south to Alchymia Distillery (ages 18+ only) where the food and spirits will flow all weekend. Saturday’s (12-3.30pm) ultimate TrailGraze Mixer will bring together fellow Tasting Trail favourites La Cántara Artisan Cheeses and Tarkine Fresh Oysters for a gin and whisky pairing experience. On Sunday, the distillery door is open from 12-4pm.
  • Continue east to Burnie’s Communion Brewery for a late lunch (or second lunch – it’s TrailGraze, after all) alongside complimentary tastings of fresh hop ale and half-price beer paddles.
  • A short 10 minutes down the road will have you settled in for whisky tasting flights with Tasmanian truffles (2-4pm) at Hellyers Road Distillery, before Cocktail & Dessert Hour (4-6pm) beckons with a range of cocktails and indulgent treats developed especially for the TrailGraze weekend. There’s also the chance to bottle your own whisky to take a taste of the North West home with you in their Whisky Walk tours (10.30am, 11.30am and 3pm).
  • Complete the loop back to Stanley in time for a dinner of delicious crayfish specials at the iconic Hursey Seafoods.
